Confusing Thoughts
My sheep listen to my voice. I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 ICB
How do you know what God wants you to do in any given situation? For example, what is God’s will for your marriage, career, finances, relationships, and so on?
The voices of the world are loud and sparse, but the voice of God is a constant whisper. —Benjamin J. Elger
How can you be sure that the little voice you’re hearing (in your head) is God? How do you know it isn’t your desire? Or worse, a thought inspired by negative feelings you’re having about the situation?
Like all of life’s most challenging questions, you’ll find the answers by praying, reading God’s Word, and meditating on His promises.
Letting go of your responsibilities, concerns, fears, achievements, relationships, finances, and health may initially feel intimidating. Still, you’ll become more and more confident in God’s direction and plans simply by spending quality time in conversation with Him every day.
The more you pursue God and invite Him into your experiences, the more conscious you will become of His voice.
You have to do the work.

Father, I want to hear Your voice. I want to know that You are real and feel Your presence in my life. I want to know that You are guiding me and have a plan for me.
I want to feel Your love for me. I want to know that You are listening to me when I pray. I want to know that You care about me and are interested in my life.vI want to feel Your joy and Your peace. I want to know that You are in control and follow You with all my heart.
I want to know You more, God. Help me to hear Your voice. Amen.
