Welcome to the weekend edition of Library66, courtesy of the New International Version (Bible).
Victor Hugo once said, “The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved – loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.”
Precise, and Biblically inspired, that quote reminds me of Galatians 5:22-23.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.
Perfection is unattainable — yet God will awaken your heart, and transform your character to one of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
In doing so, God’s unconditional love will bring the sort of happiness Victor Hugo once talked about.
