Most important of all, love each other deeply because love makes you willing to forgive many sins.
—1st Peter 4:8 (ERV)
No man, woman, or child knows when Jesus is returning. Not even the angels of heaven know when this planet will finally see its last sunrise. It could be tomorrow, or Election Day 2020 (haha!), but no one actually knows.
So I say all of that to say this: Love each other genuinely. And don’t think of it as a favor you’re doing other people by loving them — think of it as something you’re doing out of obedience to God, which will bring you closer to Him.
Love everyone with all the enthusiasm and intensity you have because it’s through love that you’re willing to forgive those who have wronged you. You won’t always feel good about forgiving people who betray your trust, but feelings aside — it’s the right thing to do for you.
If Jesus comes back tomorrow, make sure your accounts are clear. Don’t let that day come with ill feelings still occupying your heart.
