Finding Peace in Discipline
We don’t enjoy discipline when we get it. It is painful. But later, after we have learned our lesson from it, we will enjoy the peace that comes from doing what is right. Hebrews 12:11 ERV
Understandably, no one enjoys discipline when they first experience it. It’s usually painful and (thought of as) a negative experience.
However, correction is essential for growth and development. It teaches us to take responsibility for our actions, to be accountable, and to develop self-control.
Without discipline, we can not reach our true potential—life would be nothing more than a series of unending crises, struggles, and disappointments.
Though it may be difficult, submitting to God’s discipline is crucial to developing the character required to enjoy the peace that comes from doing what is right, and living your purpose.
Discipline—what a gift.
