Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
James 5:16 (NIV)
Today, I want to talk about solitary confinement. Not the kind used as punishment for the most “uncontrollable” inmates in our prison systems — more like the self-imposed solitude some of us experience.
We are, by nature, social beings. Therefore, by disengaging from others, you’re handicapping your ability to receive the blessings of God.
It’s your prayer for others and theirs for you that brings healing. Whether it’s physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, financial, or relational, it’s through your brothers and sisters’ prayers that bring relief and restoration.
Be mindful of who you confide in, and pray that they’re in-step with God’s will whenever they intercede on your behalf.
Bottom line — when you need healing, ask God to reveal your prayer partner — then reach out and ask them to stand with you in faith and prayer.
