Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.
—Proverbs 16:3 (CEB)
To use a sports analogy: Give Him the darn ball, and get out of the way!
When the Bulls needed a basket late in the game, they gave it to the best player on the planet, Michael Jordan. It was a gameplan that, more often than I care to remember (as a Knicks fan), led to overwhelming dominance and success.
And when you give the ball/your life, health, or work to God, you are guaranteed success.
This doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed the results you want — only that you’re accepting God’s intended outcome. One which has a generational impact — the likes of which you may not even live to see.
Most people can admit that if they’re playing basketball and want to win, they’d have no problem giving Michael Jordan the ball. So why not give God everything in this “game of life” and let him deliver a legacy of success.
