Welcome to your daily dose of encouragement, courtesy of 1st Peter 3:8, New American Bible — Finally, all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble.
As you can see, God is calling us to create an all-inclusive society of loving people, regardless of our backgrounds and characteristics.
We are to stand up for those with or without a religious or cultural affiliation.
We are to live in a way that respects the dignity and worth of each person.
We are to actively engage in racial, ethnic, and sexual equality in our government and in our society.
We are to advocate for the economic prosperity of all people.
We are to stand against all forms of bigotry and discrimination; and when individuals or groups violate those principles, we condemn the behavior.
Simply put, we have to do what our leaders talk about, but rarely practice — love each other and protect the most vulnerable among us.
