In any given situation, how do you know what God wants you to do?
What is God’s will for your marriage, career, finances, relationships, and so on?
How can you be sure that the little voice you’re hearing (in your head) is God? How do you know it isn’t your own desires? Or worse, a thought inspired by negative comments you hear in the news?
Well, like all of life’s most challenging questions, you’ll find the answers by praying, reading God’s Word, and meditating on His promises.
Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. (Romans 12:2)
Letting go of your responsibilities, concerns, fears, achievements, relationships, finances, and health may feel intimidating at first. Still, you’ll become more and more confident in God’s direction and plans simply by spending quality time in conversation with Him every day.
The more you pursue God and invite Him into your experiences, the more conscious you will become of His voice.
It’s like Benjamin J. Elger once said, “The voices of the world are loud and sparse, but the voice of God is a constant whisper.“
