And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 (NRSVA)
Today’s verse offers a very familiar message. It tells us that we should expect to receive everything we need, as long as those needs are according to God’s will.
If you find that God isn’t supplying your needs, you may want to rethink your understanding of your actual needs, not someone else’s.
For example, a new car wouldn’t be a need for me at this time, but it could be a legitimate need for you — given your situation. Some may disagree that God would treat a new car as a need, but it seems that since he’s given us different designs, gifts, talents, and abilities, that our requirements would also differ.
My point is, we all have needs, and instead of worrying and complaining about how we need more, we should thank God for what we have, while asking for the things we still need.
